7 Productivity Tips To Get More Done Each Day

productivity tips

Lately I’ve been working on trying to be as productive as possible, as I found my productivity was lacking a little bit in the prior couple of weeks!

So I thought this would be a great opportunity to share with you what I find to be the top 7 simple productivity tips to get more out of your day!

These are all very simple and you have probably heard of them before, but it’s always a great reminder every now and then to go over these tips.

Productivity Tip 1. Exercise

Besides from the obvious health benefits, exercise also makes you more productive. It’s one of the simple productive tips most people forget or just ignore but regular exercise will make you more alert and energized so you can get more done!

Productivity Tip 2. Podcasts when commuting

There’s a good chance that you will be commuting for at least 30 minutes of your day, so put it to good use! I find that when driving and listening to podcasts, I learn a lot from some of the greatest minds on the planet, which in turn gives me great ideas to incorporate into Build Your Empire and serve you better.

Great podcasts on iTunes to search as a starting point to check out are “The Entrepreneurship Podcast” with Nathan Chan from Foundr, “The School of Greatness” with Lewis Howes, and “Entrepreneur on fire” with John Lee Dumas.

Productivity Tip 3. Moving the needle forward

Try and spare at least an hour or two a day to “move the needle forward”. It’s easy to get caught up in the day to day madness of your business (emails, phone calls, marketing, etc), that you forget to work on the projects that will take your business to the next level (new product, better feature of your service, redesigning your website).

Productivity Tip 4. A “Do it now!” attitude

If I find I am putting something off and procrastinating, and try and force myself into a “do it now!” attitude, which makes me want to get whatever it is out of the way asap. When you’re consciously telling yourself to do it now, you realize it’s much easier and effective to just get it over and done with now rather than leaving it for later. Try it!

Productivity Tip 5. Make your goals viewable

Print out your goals and put them up in several places where you will see them all through the day. Make your goals exciting as well as challenging.

Productivity Tip 6. Batch tasks together

I find I am much more productive with time if I batch tasks together. For example I’ll make all my Instagram photo’s for the entire week in one sitting on the same morning I’ll write an article, or I’ll view/reply to emails once in the morning then once in the evening so I don’t lose focus through the day replying to emails back and forth.

Productivity Tip 7. Write a to-do list the night before

For the final of these simple productivity tips, I find the most productive way to get a solid start to the day is to write a to-do list the night before. When I don’t write a to-do list, I find myself wasting time in the morning and not focusing on getting things done as the brain isn’t thinking very clear first thing in the morning. I try to limit my list to getting three important things done, with other things written in small text under it if I get to those. Limiting my list to three things makes it less daunting to look at first thing in the morning.
